Riverside Catering is a well-established locally based team of professional specialist caterers, dedicated solely to providing high-quality catering services to schools, nurseries, pupil referral units and a respite centre for young people. Each day over 14,000 pupils enjoy the great tasting meals we currently supply to schools in Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield.Our primary focus is helping our young people build strong bodies, sharp minds and lead healthy lives.Riverside Catering ensures the food we provide is tailored to pupils' needs, as we appreciate how getting young people to eat healthily can be a challenge. Our aim is to ensure that each day; every pupil has a positive lunchtime experience.Our service is constantly evolving as we add value to the customer experience and provide the best possible service for the pupils and the school.
Risk Management Service and CLEAPSS Membership
The Service provides access to health and safety, emergency planning and business continuity advice, guidance, support and training to ensure schools and academies are able to comply with the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and underpinning regulations, the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, DfE requirements and compliance with school policy requirements.The service also provides advice, guidance and support in relation to claims against schools and academies caused by alleged health and safety legislative breaches. (NB although RMBC may not be currently insuring an Academy School, claims can be received pre-conversion date which the home Authority has responsibility for settlement).The service also provides a dedicated risk management website where documents such as model policies and template risk assessments can be accessed.Health and Safety officers advising schools and academies are all qualified occupational safety and health practitioners. The Emergency Planning Team holds Beacon Council status for its work around resilience planning.
Pest Control Service
All Pest Control officers are discreet when attending appointments.Our annual contract offers a minimum of 8 monitoring visits per year with unlimited call-outs for treatment as required. You will have access to expert Pest Control advice and a Contract Folder is maintained on site so you have access to treatment records.Alternatively, you may use the service on a 'Pay As You Go' basis without an annual contract.
Moving and Handling Service
The Moving & Handling Service enables schools to meet their Health and Safety obligations regarding staff training and statutory responsibilities for the safety of children/young people in their care such as follows:Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 (HASAWA, 1974) Section 2 & 7Manual Handling Operations Regulations, 1992 (MHOR, 1992) Regulation 4, Guidance NotesManagement of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, 1999 (MHSWR, 1999), Regulation 13Having suitably trained staff will enable schools and settings to respond to needs identified in a child/young person’s statement or Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), or might be used to provide evidence of safeguarding for Ofsted as part of their local offer and in fulfilment of their statutory responsibilities.
